Hurricanes Go 2-0 In Pool Play

The Hamden Hurricanes 13U concluded the pool play portion of the 2012 War at the Shore Independence Day tournament with a 12-4 win over the Northeast Longhorns of Holliston, MA.  Tyler Rowe worked three innings to earn the win for Hamden while Tamir March again came up big and provided three shutdown relief innings for the Canes.  Damon Savenelli, Jeremy Routh, James Michaud and Kwadir McIntyre did most of the damage for the Canes each contributing two hits apiece.    Hamden would use a four-run first inning, a six-run third and a two-run fifth to secure the victory.  Hamden returns to action tomorrow in the championship, single elimination round of the tournament.  Pairings will be announced later tonight.
